Family Nest Therapy CIC is a family-run organisation based in Par, Cornwall. Founded by sisters-in-law, Sarah and Jess who realised how beneficial horses can be in supporting people of all ages and abilities with their mental health.


Family Nest offers equine therapy to veterans as they understand that many individuals can experience symptoms such as anxiety, fear, and hopelessness after traumatic events. They help their clients overcome these feelings through the use of equine therapy. Sarah understands firsthand how challenging this can be as her husband previously suffered from PTSD after a career in the military.  


She applies her skills and knowledge to develop personal support plans that are suitable to each individual and their needs.

TRANSFORMATIONAL BREATH

Transformational Breath® is a simple self-healing form of breathwork that helps people to open up the full potential of their breathing system, by focusing on, and encouraging, a full diaphragmatic breath. 

The initial session is approximately two hours long. The actual breath session is approximately 60 minutes with 30 minutes on either side. The first 30 minutes is an opportunity to connect, and to set an intention for the session, while the final 30 minutes allows for some integration and grounding after the breath session. 

The breathing session will start with a short breath analysis where Alex will observe the breath to see where the breath is being held physically. From there you will then move into the main part of the session where Alex will use simple techniques including adjusting the position of your body, applying gentle hands-on pressure, use sound, movement, and positive affirmations to help open your breath. 

Breathwork can lead to improvement in our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. By encouraging a full diaphragmatic breath Transformational Breath® supports multiple bodily systems including the digestive system, lymphatic system, detox system, and nervous system.  For example, it can help balance the ‘fight and flight’ and ‘rest and digest’ branches of the autonomic nervous system. With practice we can experience better energy flow in the body, allowing for improvements in our mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing too.
